Hi everyone
Back in January 2019 I purchased tickets to a theatre show for September 2019. Nearer to the time, the theatre wrote to inform that the producer had a set back on the launch of the show and could not meet the dates I had booked, and instead rescheduled extra dates at the end of the tour in June 2020 which my tickets were automatically transferred to.
Then comes the pandemic and of course, I did not see the show.
I've found out on the theatres website that the shows dayes have been rescheduled to March 2021 (over two years since I purchased the tickets), and unfortunately the dates fall on a week where I am supposed to be on holiday abroad (all being well).
Annoyingly the theatre are offerring those who cannot make it to either... donate the cost of the tickets to their business or take a refund in credit vouchers to future shows.
I appreciate the sad circumstances for this industry but I have been mocked around for two years over this show. The first instance wasn't even due to the pandemic. With £100 on the line here and myself struggling with income and job stability, I feel I should be able to have my money back and not made to feel guilty for this establishment.
The venue in question is still not open so I feel this is going to be a long process. I paid originally on my credit card, would this be the right Avenue to fight for a full refund?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

What do their terms and conditions say about cancelled shows?
Entertainment venues suffer an above average rate of cancellations (even before Covid) which is likely to mean that they have written their terms to suit this. So check the wording about what happens when a show is cancelled and their contract with you is "frustrated".- All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's
- When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
- "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere
- All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's and their rules apply.
