Now Broadband Retention Deals

Does anyone have any experience or negotiating advice, when it comes to dealing with Now Broadband retentions?

Having switched from Sky, I'm coming to the end of my 'Brilliant Broadband' contract in a few weeks - £18 p/m for ADSL + Anytime Calls.

Any examples of recent retention deals, to aim for, would be much appreciated. I've already been offered the same package at £26 p/m via a general 'Your contract is ending' e-mail.

Thanks in advance.

I contacted them yesterday on behalf of my father in law. Last year they price matched what new customers get - £18 broadband and anytime calls or £23 fibre and anytime calls. Who I spoke to yesterday wouldn't do that and offered £20.99 broadband and calls or £25.99 fibe and calls. I said new customers could still get £18 or £23 for broadband or fibre but said those were the deals this week and to phone up next week as it could have changed.

Many thanks for the information. Perhaps the £18/£23 prices were linked to the Shell Broadband offer, which recently ended.
Did you have to negotiate to get the £20.99/25.99 prices or were they offered straightaway? I'm wondering if actually putting in a cancellation request would result in a different offer - as was the case with Sky.

    Hi
I'm just about to do the same for my mom and dad. Last year I managed to get a continuation of the new customer cost (£18) but £21 would be good. Can I ask did you use chat or phone them?

    Many thanks

I phoned them and just said the contract was coming to an end and wanted to know what deal they could do to stay with them before I looked around. When he came back with that offer I said it wasn't as good as a new customer could get and they matched a new customer's offer last year when I phoned.  He said their systems won't allow them to match new customer's offers at the moment and to try next week as it can change.

He also did say that the new customer offer was changing the day after (which it hasn't) so who knows. If you speak to someone else or at a different time they may have different offers. I will phone again next week.

Please post back here if you have any any success please.

    Hi
I've been trying the Live Chat for the last week in an effort to get my parents a new deal but doesn't seem to be available. Phoned today and at first they offered £21.99 but when applying the offer it changed to £17.99. Whether competitors are offering new deals I don't know but I'm not complaining.

    Cheers

Did NOW offer the £21.99/£17.99 deal for their 'Brilliant Broadband' & Free Anytime Calls package or was it for something different? Also, did you have to push them quite hard to get a decent offer?

One type of offer I saw mentioned, a few months ago (pre-Covid), was to match the new customer price and receive a free NOW TV pass. I don't know if this type of offer would be forthcoming now but perhaps it is worth a try.

  • Contacted them again. They started saying they could do it for £21.99 like last week. (£17.99 for broadband and £4 anytime calls), but I said for the last couple of years you have always matched new customer offers and I would stay if they could do that. He went away for a few seconds to check and came back saying he could do it for £17.99, so managed to get broadband and anytime calls for that. Result  :)

I phoned twice on Sunday and all they would offer was £17.99 bb only and £21.99 with anytime. Last year they offered to renew at £18. with no hassle.
I applied to switch to a new company on Monday and received an email from Now almost instantly stating they were sorry I was leaving and gave me an 08007 591 170  number to discuss my account. Yesterday I contacted them and within a few minutes they had agreed to the full package for £17.99. The person I spoke to said the offers made to me on Sunday were incorrect and that as long as I continue to sign up to bb they will include "anytime" for free. I'm just happy I have the contract for another year at a decent price with no changing suppliers
