IME Asda are very keen not to upset their customers.  Perhaps it is because my local Asda has a Lidl and an Akdi a few minutes walk away.

Provided you are walking in a non-Blue Nun-affected straight line! 😊

If you pay by card, is there not a way Asda can verify in their system as to what time you were in the store?
    For what purpose?
I thought he wanted to prove to them he was in the store during the allotted time?
But a bit like your 8-hour example, all he needed to do was buy a packet of Polo mints to prove he was in the store at that time - a mere snapshot. Nothing would really prove the length of time in the store. And, in case you were going to suggest it, no, they wouldn't chase through hours of CCTV for him - it's not a murder case! 😊
    That's a fair point   :)

I hope your complaint works, but you were advised to contact the store manager and/or the CEO, not customer services. In addition, a 'phone call is not worth the paper upon which it is writ which is why you were advised to either show the store manger the PCN and proof of purchase, or email it to the CEO.
If customer services don't get it cancelled within a week, you should follow the specific advice already given.

I called and asked for the manager and I have been given the standard answer : "Not available". When asked in what regards, I mentioned that I want to log a complaint for being invoiced unjustified by having the car in their car park for more than 3 hours. I gave the reference of the PCN which was logged on the case and was also given a reference number in return, should I have the need to check on this at a later stage.
I was reassured that the request to cancel the PCN will be sent today. I will follow up with a call tomorrow to check on the case and to make sure the cancellation request has been sent.

Personally, I wouldn't pester them so soon. See my advice previously - your next step is to view the PE website in a few days time, then take it from there if necessary.

Easy enough to check on the P/Eye website by next week.

BTW surely the appeal draft you posted in post #1 is NOT the current advised template appeal?  I am sure it's not like that now!

    Great news!

AND - please now make a real difference - A TASK FOR SEPTEMBER.

The Government is (this month only) consulting about a new statutory code of practice (CoP) and framework to rein in the rogue parking firms.  Read and comment on the draft CoP proposal and the enforcement framework consultation, and get everyone you know to do the same.

You will need to register to comment on the CoP and enter an occupation even if you are retired or a homemaker, but otherwise it is easy to navigate, and comment upon each section/subsection individually. You can save comments to edit later and or submit comments once you are happy with them.

    https://standardsdevelopment.bsigroup.com/projects/2020-00193#/section

You do not need to register to comment on the enforcement framework which can be found here. It has a link on page 5 to make comments.

    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/913272/Code_Enforcement_Framework_consultation.pdf

At the very least, we say the parking charge level should be £50/£25 or higher level £70/£35, as per Council PCNs in E&W.

And we say the added fake 'debt recovery' costs are just double counting the cost of letters, and MUST GO because that is unfair and illegal.

Please be heard.  You can bet the hundreds of PPCs will be commenting.

No apologies for repeating this vital 'call for action' to consumers, on every thread this month!
