Expensive gas bills with Bulb - what could have happened?

I don't think the OP is blaming Bulb? However, the moment Landis & Gyr 310p was mentioned the meter does become prime suspect. But unless it's still doing it today and without n years of consumption data from a previous meter, it's going to be difficult to prove anything.0

Though not specifically a problem created by bulb the OP has complained and been fobbed off as is standard by energy suppliers who are supposed to be the experts! I was told numerous times my meter was fine by the energy company (even at 64m3 used in 48hrs !) before having to go to the ombudsman0

"Especially since they have been in the news recently for overcharging customers."
This has turned out to be a red herring at least.0
