easyJet have cancelled the Newcastle flights and closing the Newcastle base, I have flights booked for next summer but easyJet say the 2021 flight may start again next year,it appears to me it is a way to hold back refunds, is anything I can do about this. Below is easyJet response.

Not until they officially cancel it, no.1

Just because base is closed it doesn't mean flights won't happen. Are the flights still available to book for '21 ?0

all Newcastle flights have been removed from program0

In which case as per @bradders1983 suggests you're waiting until they formally cancel - the whole industry is in turmoil re what to plan for next year so they may yet happenbenjoelauratom said:all Newcastle flights have been removed from program

They may decide to go back and operate the summer 21 flights hence why they havent formally cancelled them yet. Doubtful but they are clearly keeping this option open.0

would have thought that if you booked a flight, and then it was withdrawn from sale it is cancelled, and as such you should be entitled to a full refund. Not that I would expect EasyJet to honour such an arrangement1

But at this moment in time the flights do not exist, you cannot book a flight for example from Newcastle to Palma after August 2020, whereas if you had tried to book pre announcement a full programme was on offer right into summer 2021. These flights no longer exist which in my book means they are now cancelled and clients booked on them should be entitled to a full refund if requested.bradders1983 said:They may decide to go back and operate the summer 21 flights hence why they havent formally cancelled them yet. By all means write to them and point this out but I suspect it is a ploy to manage cashflow, aye.0

There is a body called AviatorADR is supposedly some kid of arbitration service that handles complaints against airlines who have signed up to it (EasyJet) have. You must wait for eight weeks from your first contact with the airline before involving them. Dont know anything about them but one of the things they deal with is "issues of unfair trading", which DI think would involve selling seats on non existent aircraft.0
