Insurance issue

Most of the ones with hefty admin fees are the ones in barge pole territory so if the OP were to try to avoid hefty fees with their current insurer via an early renewal it would imply they are already in bed with such an outfit.The_Rainmaker said:
Aye and most of them you wouldn't touch with a barge pole.Sandtree said:
You'd still be sensible doing new business quotes beforehand as whilst some will charge a hefty admin fee many also give significant new business discounts which would greatly outweigh any admin fee.The_Rainmaker said:
Moot point now, but some insurers might have wanted to add a hefty admin fee.Car_54 said:
Why would you want to renew now, rather than ask the meerkats in a few weeks time?The_Rainmaker said:Yes. just contact your insurer to switch insurance from one car to the next. You may also want to ask whether you could renew just now and retain your full NCB.-1 -
Development. Called to change over. He spoke to his manager. Was just to get a new policy for new car. I will get my no claims bonus for this year as I have only 19 days left.
So policy out for a new car. This is an utter farce in my mind. My old car still insured going by MIB check. Emailed asking what's going on. Call handler went spoke to the manager- to tell me. Take a new policy out. I will get this year NCB. As putting new car on for 19 days left or so.0 -
MIB isn't real time, back in my day insurers had 7 days to inform the MIB of any changes... I cannot remember the turnaround time from the MIB being informed and the MID being updated though would imagine in practice is near instant or 24hrs tops.Buzzard1985 said:My old car still insured going by MIB check.1 -
