I have accounts with EE, Vanquis, Littlewoods and Barclay that have been open for more than four years but it only shows four years of data for each. Seems a bit far fetched that all four would have only started reporting to Equifax four years ago and not when they opened

My response from checkmyfile was that Equifax only use four years of data whereas Experian and Transunion use six years

They’re wrong.
Equifax keep 6 years of history.

I've rang Equifax - they confirmed that they only keep information of open accounts up to four years. Any information on closed accounts stays on there for six years. They also confirmed that lenders will only see the information I see. They confirmed that any negative information on an open account will not be seen by lenders after four years as they do not keep this information. Came directly from them
