What other transactions are there?  They have included shops, online and telephone which surely covers everything which isn't withdrawing cash from an ATM.

Depositing money into a savings account via a debit card, or making a payment to your credit card via a debit card. That’s 2 for starters and there will be more. These are not “purchases” to my mind. 

I’d much rather make a few payments to my credit card to ensure I get it, as opposed to counting usual debit card transactions because I don’t usually make that many.

I am confused now - you explain that making a payment to your credit card via a debit card won't count for this offer. I would agree with that.

But then you go on to say "I’d much rather make a few payments to my credit card to ensure I get it". Isn't that what you just said won't count?

Yes. I’d rather make payments to my credit card for this offer (than in store or online purchases), but I don’t think they will qualify. I’ll have to do actual shopping as opposed to any clever workaround to meet the conditions.

Metro Bank's switching form isn't working for me - is this happening to anyone else? It just won't submit!

Check switch date that you put in, someone mentioned to me that caused switching form not to submit, date has to be switch completion date allowing enough working days
