Switching to new provider when landline and broadband currently with different providers

I'm looking at sorting out my parent's internet. They're currently with BT for landline and Plusnet on a very old "Value Without Phone" 10Gb usage / month package which only has unlimited usage midnight - 8am. As they're doing a lot more video calls now it's no longer suitable.
I'm looking at switching to the Shell Energy deal. Is there any complication or likely to be issues when taking out a new contract when the phone line and existing broadband are currently with different providers? Or does the new provider just sort it all out and know to contact both existing providers? Would they arrange the same switch date for both services on the same day?
I know in the past this used to be a lot more common having this but is quite unusual these days. I've tried searching for information on it but can't seem to find anything. The OFCOM site doesn't really mention it https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/costs-and-billing/switching/switching-landline but it all seems to be talking about switching form one provider to another, not from 2 to 1.
Hos anyone done similar, or can advise?

Its usually cheaper to have line and internet from the one provider these days, than it is to have them separate. You could always ask Plusnet to take over the phone line, that will bring them together and then you can get access to the better deals, including the line rental discount. Or the other way, migrate the internet to BT to bring them together that way, though BT almost always isn't the cheapest. Plusnet is owned by BT but run at arms length and quite often undercuts its parent.Otherwise, yes its just a case of signing up with Provider X and they'll do all the legwork, no different to if you have gas with Dalek Energy and electricity with Sonic Screwdriver Energy, and then decide to move them both to Tardis Energy.0
