I'd be trying to see if someone can drop a log or some rocks across the entry way that leaves a gap just too small for a quad bike. Who owns / is responsible for the CP? If it's the council they may be able to do something to physically restrict access.
The problem is where that restricts access to others - especially those in wheelchairs or with pushchairs.
Indeed. There is a right of way for everything except motorised vehicles, so you need to accommodate a carriage and team of horses. Or oxen.
Hands up who else is thinking "Hmm, I quite fancy taking an oxen-drawn carriage into my local park" right now...?
At the moment, I quite fancy it. One of those huge medieval ones with the wooden wheels, preferably. One that effectively blocks the restricted byway and moves very slowly, especially when there’s a quad bike behind itching to overtake.

We have also had problems with illegal quads and motorbikes. Councils and the police need to up their game.

The problem is that illegal quads and motorbikes are horrible to try and catch - no plates mean no identification without stopping or following it home, assuming it's not completely gone by the time the police arrive and they can follow it in a car. Some forces invested in bikes to try and follow them though.

The only real hope of catching them is for someone to recognise one of the riders, or for the police to already be waiting for them (which is only possible if they show up consistently at the same time).
