How do I wire this two way switch and one way switch into one two-way switch?

So my new house has two sets of lights in the kitchen diner but for some reason only the diner has two way switch, one at each entrance, the kitchen only has the single switch on the one entrance. Here's the switch that has two way for the dinner and one way switch for the kitchen. I'm thinking that  rewiring this into one two-way switch will make both lights two way. How do I wire this two way switch and one way switch into one two-way switch?

So you have light A with two switches and light B with only one?  To give light B a second switch will require a wire going from the new switch to the light for a start.  If I have your question right, I think it is more work than you hope.

  • It all depends how the two way circuit is wired.

Its not a five mine job

Simplest way to do it is to wire the two lights together and remove the loop in and out and switch wire

However its easier to keep the lights seperate and put another double switch and all you have to do is run a 3t & e from the existing switch to the new one

Whichever way you do it will require access into the ceiling void either by lifting floorboards or chopping holes in your ceiling
  • Fyi you can't simply rewire a one way switch and make it a two way switch  - you need to put a new cable in

As you have a neutral at the switch you could install Two 2 gang smart Switches. If the other single switch has a neutral then you will not have to change the wiring at all. But if there is not a neutral and the other switch its easy to get a neutral there. If you don't want smart switches then as other have said you will need to run a 3core and earth cable between the 2 switches.

if you put the brown wire from L1 on the left switch, into L1 on the right switch, both lights will be linked together, and both be operated by the 2 way switching.
or, if that doesn't work put them back to how it was, and then try moving the brown wire from COM on the left switch to L1 on the right switch
