Holiday Pay.

Hello everyone.
I desperately need advice about Current employment situation. Recently I've received my wages and noticed it is all wrong.
The company I work for they have put me on furlough. So I get usual 80%. But they don't pay me 80% as by my contracted hours. They pay me as what I've earned last year. Here's two problemsl: they didn't pay me 80% of last years August payment neither they paid me 80% of my usual hours.
Secondly, they have sent us an email back in June saying they will deduct 2 weeks of holidays from our holiday entitlement and pay it with the rest of the furlough pay.
Now I've received my payment which is in two part furlough of £650.95 (last years wages for August was £899.80). & my normal hours are 5 days a week and 5 hours a day on national minimum.
So, 80% of last years payment is £719.84 or my usual pay (1002.80-20%=£802.24). But as I said they only paid me £650.95.
Plus 2 weeks of my holiday money is 5×10=50×8.72=£436. But they only paid me £70.76.
Could anyone please tell me if this is right? 😭😭😭😭😭

Dear superbigal.
I really appreciate your reply. Thanks. But I was wondering if the companies are allowed to force you to use up the holidays, specially when the rate is this? I would prefer getting paid for the holidays when I actually take one or the real pay?. I didn't ask them to pay me 100% of my pay using 10 days of my holidays. And why do they have to use 10 says and pay £70.76? And not just use whatever needed to make it 100% 🤔🤔🤔. Sounds greedy but i believe this is what I'm entitled to. I'm talking about this because I'm in desperate need of money when when i see it losing it without understanding it, it makes me feel 😥😥😥.0 -
Did they give you the sufficient notice about you leave being used?0

For variable hours holiday pay is now the average of the last 52 weeks since April 2020(used to be 12 weeks)
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/calculating-holiday-pay-for-workers-without-fixed-hours-or-pay/calculating-holiday-pay-for-workers-without-fixed-hours-or-pay--2
this sets out the 52 weeks requirement
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1998/1833/regulation/16/
and referres to the weeks pay in the emplyment act, which uses 12 weeks still for other calculations.

1: yes your employer can always tell you when to take hols.
2: Why does it matter where they get money from??? You got paid 10 days of leave.0 -

You sound like an employer and not an employee. In fact, like my employer. I'm talking about one thing and you are talking about God knows what.
Im not an employer; i'm telling you that you have no reason to be upset.0 -
They can dictate when you take your holiday otherwise everyone would be entitled to all their holiday on return to work and they would not be able to fit everyones holiday in before the end of the leave year.0

it does not matter where it comes from but does matter if it is not right.
I don't see how the top up of ~£70 is right if it is a 20% top up it should ~£80-£90
Holiday pay(since April 2020 )when the pay is variable is the average of the previous 52 weeks pay.
This employer maybe doing it wrong.
