Facebook buyer wants a refund.

I have sold my Kenwood mixer to someone. It was working fine, when he came he whinged and wined that it wasn't perfect a few blemishes. I explained  that I told his wife about the handle on the food processor and she said it was fine.  He wasnt happy about that. I put on the electricity out the front and demostrated he heard it working, he umed and ahed. Told him if he can get a kenwood recent model with food processor attachements with all the blades 5 unused go ahead. Said ok I will give you what you want.  Now he says it isnt working right. It was checked over before I placed up for sale. They are fiddly if not used to them.

He heard it working mind you he wasnt intrested in that just how it looked.

Do I have to give him a refund?

Nope, he had ample chance to test/inspect. As long as you was honest in your description, then simply just block their number.

    As above, ignore him.

Honestly, why do people whinge and whine about imperfections in a second-hand item on facebook?  As you said, if he could get a better deal elsewhere, he's welcome to it.  Chancer.

If he wants a warranty he should go to a shop.

I am in the same situation and it has made me feel really upset and worried.  I sold a good quality Vango tent (used once) on facebook marketplace yesterday, plus bits of camping gear and extras for the tent (carpet and footprint and extra poles) The bloke who bought it offered just for the tent ..tried to beat me down but I wouldn't shift....then messaged me to say he would pay the asking price for all of it and picked it up yesterday.  He has just PHONED me today to say he doesn't want the extras, just the tent and wants to return them to me and be refunded.  However, he has said he wants to keep the carpet and footprint...both of which weren't included in the tent but would cost £40 extra (which is what I would get for them as I have checked )  If he keeps them both his refund would be just £10.  He has just messaged me again to say he hopes I am joking re the £10.  I feel really upset and threatened...and yet have sold on platforms like this for years with no problems.

Can you assure me that I am in the right...he had ample time if he wanted to to check everything and the tent is in excellent condition (we checked it over and erected it and photoed before selling it)

Its a private sale, the sale has been made, case closed. You don't need to give him anything back.

As above.  If he wanted return/refund flexibility he should have bought from an actual retailer.  As long as you described everything fairly and accurately, he has no right to anything.  Politely tell him you're not interested in getting involved in any returns or refund scenarios and if he persists, block his number.
