FIT with Eon, Can I switch to another supplier?

Finally, six months after we purchased a freehold house with panels installed by the builders in 2013, we're on the verge of getting them transferred into our name. I have only bad experiences with Eon (who currently the FIT tariff is with) and would like, if possible, to switch to another supplier. Does anyone know if this is possible?

(but you can easily switch away again soon after). However, from reviews on here, Eon do seem to be one of the better companies for paying FIT payments promptly, EDF are also very prompt. We were with EDF when we had the panels installed, so still have our FIT payments from them. However, have moved our electricity supply a few times and now with Octopus.1

I've never had a good experience purchasing electricity from Eon: all kinds of issues such as enforcing unrealistic payment plans on me and refusing to change them. However I was with Eon at the time of my install and so my FIT payments are with them. I cannot fault them at all and most importantly payments have been very prompt. I'd stick with them and keep it simple.Install 28th Nov 15, 3.3kW, (11x300LG), SolarEdge, SW. W Yorks.

As above, I've had no problems with Eon for FIT payments, paid promptly every quarter, so I've stayed with them, although I switched my supply to get a better deal.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. Thank you all. We previously lived in a rented house for six months while our purchase went through and Eon were the supplier for gas (district heating) and electricity. I had trouble getting hold of them during normal times but a soon as lockdown happened they were all but impossible to contact.
When we moved out of the rented accommodation in April, I called and gave them my final meter readings. I had just this week (four months later) received a cheque for the money that was owed on my electricity supply and have yet to hear about the gas. The district heating was extortionately expensive and there was no way to switch supplier and don's even start me on the three act opera that is the process for transferring ownership of the solar panels on the freehold house that we purchased outright including the panels that Eon decreed we didn't own until we had a signed document from the vendor and a letter from our solicitor because the panels weren't mentioned on the T10 forms.
I was unable to even discuss it with Eon during lockdown because their FIT team was only dealing with customers through their online Eon account which we didn't have because we aren't Eon customers. It has all been unnecessarily stressful. However, if you say they pay fast, it will be my pleasure to take money off them and leave my supplier as British Gas who I have never had a problem with in all the 36 years I've been using them.

I was with E-on when my panels were installed. Changed energy suppliers several times since, but still have my FIT payments with them. Just sent a reading in and received payment in 3 working days as I normally do. Many suppliers take much longer to pay.
I'm back with them now as energy supplier but I'm always looking for a better deal🤔16 Sanyo Hit 250s.4kWp SMA 3.8kWp inverter. SW roof. 28° pitch. Minimal shade. Nov 2011 install. Hybrid car. Ripple Kirk Hill. N.E Lincs Coast.2 -
An update to this.
We sent (by Special Delivery) everything required to transfer ownership to Eon's FIT team including a letter from our solicitor confirming ownership of the panels. This was early August.
On August 27th we had an email from them saying we needed to prove ownership of the panels with a letter from our solicitor!
We replied immediately saying "look at what we have sent you, it includes exactly what you're asking for".
Since then, nothing.
We have chased again today but I can only conclude that Eon do this purposely to make you give up and go away.
Does the Eon Representative on here have any thoughts on the matter I wonder?

It used to be that the only problems in buying a house were incompetent solicitors and estate agents. Problems with nationalised electricity and gas utilities were hardly heard of when you moved house.
Now we have the situation when buying a freehold house with solar panels fitted means you need therapy, tranquillisers and a separate set of solicitors charges to take possession of something attached to the house you have just bought..._2 -
I confess, it's hard not to come to the conclusion that they want to make it a difficult as possible.
The lockdown didn't help. The FIT Team were only contactable through your Eon Account. We didn't (don't) have one.
I don't know how they get away with it."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

I'm really sorry this hasn't been sorted out for you, all of these accounts are looked after by our FIT team, as you know. I understand you have chased this again today, did you call?
They have a form that you can fill in on the website, also an email address, I'm sorry I can't post links.
I do know they have a backlog, as many of the advisors were furloughed at the start of the pandemic, so things will be a little slower than normal.
I'm sorry it's not something I can specifically deal with for you.
