Travel company cancels holiday as they sold at wrong price.

Hi all, I'm after a little help. This morning I booked a holiday with a U.K company to go to Dominican Republic over Christmas and new year. I have just received a voicemail from the company to say that the price I booked online was wrong (it was much cheaper than it should of been) and so therefore they have cancelled my booking.
Can anyone tell me my consumer rights? Can I fight this? It seems a shame that I should suffer based on a mistake that they have made.
Appriciate any help.

There is probably and errors and omissions type clause in the booking conditions that you agreed to. The fact that they have relatively quickly picked up and notified you of the error and presumably given you the option to pay the correct amount for the holiday or to cancel it and refund the full amount paid would probably fulfil all that they are required and obligated to do.1

It would also be a shame if they suffered because of a mistake they made.Clh said:Hi all, I'm after a little help. How have you suffered? You havent lost a penny.0

It was half the original price - while it might not have been immediately obvious, it's clear there was a mistake.
Unfortunately there's not much you can do, you're not going to convince them to effectively give 4 grand away.0 -
If the correct price was say £5,000 you would have a case for pushing them into letting you have it but it is an obvious error and they are legally allowed to cancel, how would you feel if you had paid £9000 and found out later it was a mistake and the correct price was almost 50% less0

You have no rights for them to sell you it at that price I'm afraid.

Out of curiosity - which UK company ?With the way the pandemic is continuing to disrupt international travel it may well be that your holiday would end up being cancelled - who knows ?0
