Aqua now supports Apple Pay

Aqua have recently updated their app to allow you to add your Aqua Card to Apple Pay via the App itself.
Im not sure if this means they will start releasing this to other NewDay card variants (Amazon etc.) but I guess it’s been a long time coming.

No! -no Aqua spending during 2020.
Thanks anyway, I have found great progress in reducing CC balances by not adding CC's to Apple Pay.
Though did use Tesco card for a while as I chip away at 400 pounds current balance.
Some very recent debit card payments via i pad Apple Pay. Which is nice.

I rarely use my aqua card now - but confirm it just adds to apple wallet without using the aqua app. Just scanned it - added the 3 digit code - and was set up in moments. The amazon card doesn't work yet though - gave that a try just in case.

I wonder whether they will add Garmin Pay?

Hoorah! Aqua have been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century! ;)

    It works seamlessly, too.  :)
A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.

Exactly same here. I just got Curve this March. I guess I can cancel it now.

I assume Apple Pay only works if you have an iPhone?
I have an Android phone, but have received an e-mail from Aqua saying they will support Google Pay, which I don't have but assume I can get that somehow with the Android phone.
It has always been annoying that Aqua cards are not "contactless".  If I get the Google Pay, will that mean I get a "contactless" card in effect, but using my phone?  That might make it worth doing.
    Is Google Pay secure?

Yes Apple Pay only works on Apple devices.
Gpay  can be used for contactless transactions by downloading the app and adding your card. However, this functionality will only work if you have an NFC enabled phone.
Google Pay is very secure because it generates a virtual number for every transaction rather than using your actual card details.
Both Apple Pay and Gpay can also be used to pay online at Merchants that support them, which works in a similar way to PayPal.

So, a purchase of Google Pay does not have credit card protection?
My phone is a Motorolla G7 Power, so I think that has NFC - it is quite a new model.
