Hello everyone,
I have recently moved into a flat where there are electric storage heater. I have been browsing the internet to understand how they works. There are 2 switches, one with fuse and the other without. As far as I understand the one with the fuse operates on peak times and the other, off peak. There are input and output dials but another switch and dial which I do not understand how it works. Could anyone help me with this?

The input dial at the top sets how much heat is stored from the off-peak supply. You want that high enough to store enough heat, but not so high that excess heat is stored.
The output dial at the top sets how quickly the stored heat is released. Make sure that is shut / zero before going to bed. Start turning it up about mid-afternoon if it's getting chilly. If you turn it up too much you'll run out of stored heat too early.
The switch and the knob at the side are the convector boost heater. This is just an ordinary convector heater and can be used for extra evening warmth. It will use expensive peak-rate electricity, so use it sparingly.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Thank you very much for your reply and I appreciate it! So the switch is not the indicator of off peak charging then, is it? Because I found it somewhere while browsing the internet.
Would you say my impression about the switches is correct?0 -
Look for the make and model on the heater. Then search online for the relevant instructions!0
