Usually they don’t offer a transfer. You have to close the current card then reapply for the one you want instead.
Wrong I had a platinum card that I transferred to the rewards card back in April this year. I just called them and asked if I was able to change my platinum card to a different one. They gave me 2 choices the rewards card or the Freedom rewards points card (which is no longer available to new customers).

I did something similar to this September 2019, but I changed my card from the Forward to Rewards and they also offered the Freedom rewards.
The only way to do it is over the phone but when you call Barclaycard it get's transferred to Barclays in the UK, but you need the Barclaycard call centre in India as I think they have more tools/control.

My Barclaycard rewards card offers both cashback and no fees for foreign spends!
Don't forget free overseas cash withdrawals as well with no interest charged - provided you clear the balance in full by payment due date. Its almost unheard of for a credit card provider not to charge daily interest on cash withdrawals if you clear the balance on time. The only other I can think of was the Sainsburys CC donkeys years ago. That offered you interest free/fee free cash withdrawals both in UK and overseas provided you cleared off the statement balance in full each month.
Doesn't Nationwide member & Santander Zero offer this? I hold both cards and was sure I read something about that but can't recall exactly the wording.

I have Santander Select current account and always get cash in Europe that way - pay in euro and seems it's just converted with no fee or charges which I like. I used the credit card on a few meals out - granted I'll clear my balance but maybe I should read the terms lol :)
Whilst both Nationwide Members card & Santander Zero offer commission free forex transactions, they have additional charges for cash withdrawals (both in UK & overseas). NW charge a fee of 2.5% on cash withdrawals (min £3) as well as daily interest which starts on the day you took out the cash. With Santander Zero cash withdrawals, its just the interest you pay which can be just pennies if you pay off the cash transaction very quickly. But with the Barclaycard Rewards card you don't get charged anything on overseas cash withdrawals provided you pay off the full statement balance. Almost unheard of
Thank you. Very useful info - sadly I've got BC Platinum (0% offer with just £1000 on it; should just pay it off really) & the checker says only 1 card allowed at moment. But thanks, I might request a change when I've held it longer as it's only 2 months old.

But thanks for above, definitely helps. :)

    It’s not “wrong” at all.

Maybe it’s because I was going the other way around (from the rewards card to the platinum card).

No. I think the call centre a still closed or running at minimum capacity. I remember I called a couple months ago and I was advised to keep up to date with India covid-19 news.

Well you didn't specify that in your original post, so my original statement is correct and you were wrong in that context.  Are you sure your not Gary Dexter whom was banned as you sound very like him!?!

I originally sent a secure message - and they said I had to call customer services on a particular number. On finally getting through yesterday, they said it needed to be done by secure message. Having explained that I'd sent a secure message, and then getting told to call, they gave me another number (Which happened to be closed after 8pm).

So called this morning, and got through to someone sitting in a Barclays bank on the south coast who wasn't able to help directly, but put me in the queue for a call back from the relevant team - and quoted a response time of up to 2 weeks.

Then this afternoon I received a call from Barclaycard - they confirmed my eligibility - read out several paragraphs of financial guff - hit the button, and the transfer to the cash back card will start tonight. The card number will be different, the benefits will update, but the credit limit and APR will remain the same. The new card should be delivered in the next 2 weeks.

So for anyone else that's looking - it can be done - but takes a fair bit of faffing about.

It will change when your next statement is due when I changed mine they said the same thing that it would be changed the same day.  I did receive an email a few days after I changed it saying thank you for choosing our rewards Card.. Your account will change on your next statement date, which it did. I then got a text a few days later saying my new card was on the way, though when I got home after receiving the text the new card was posted through my door by a courier.
