Brilliant progress so far on overpaying
So pleased you managed to get your driveway finished in the end. Definitely helps when you have people around you who can chip in with the labour as that is what takes up so much of the quotes nowadays
I know the feeling of wanting to renovate everything as quickly as possible but funds don't allow! I have no patience but I need to grow some as my reno home will take a good few years! Before you know it your home will be perfect! I shall be following your journeybest of luck

Well everytime life goes good something happens and it goes upside down. Something has happened that I can’t go into on here but I am unable to work... I don’t know if it’s for a week a month or it’s gotta sit it out and see. So next weeks wages is my last.I was expecting hiccups in life but not this soon. I’m gonna have to just make minimum payments on everything for now. Luckily I’m not in my overdrafts at the minute. If I live within my means I can avoid going in them just on the tax credits. I might just look for a little shop job or something to tide me over Christmas. As I’m bank they can just not give me hours... there no option of off with pay. I am gonna go to the Drs and see if I can get a sick note for a few weeks ssp at least. Ive never ever had time off so it’s not been an issue before.Oooh I don’t know what I’m doing. I am just so so down. All I’ve done is cry and lie in bed for a week. I need a plan B.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Hiccups happen, all you can do is leave it to sort itself out. Shops / supermarkets are recruiting temporary Xmas staff at the moment, that's potentially a saving grace for you. Also, consider signing up to some temp agencies for some call centre / admin type work, use the 'form filling' side of your normal career as admin / office transferrable skills.
I've known a few people leave your line of work and switch to admin on the back of the paperwork side.
Be very careful if you contemplate UC, due to that overruling your TC and stopping them.
Are you getting CB for the kids?
You have cried, do some more the weekend and let it all out. Then Monday dust your CV off and get looking for opportunities. Bounce back and overcome, it will make you stronger.
While looking for an income, slot in some extra training / learning for your career, reflect on the issue and well, you know the rest xMortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Thanks. Yes you’re spot on with the tax credits. I wanna keep them as long as possible for the weekly money. Also getting child benefit already.I have a Masters in Public Health too so maybe could use this and the pandemic to try and move into that area now. I don’t even know where to look for jobs now. Most sites look like spam sites if anybody knows of the most legit ones to go on rather than just giving my contact details to loads of cold callers.I’m gonna have a lazy sad weekend and then sort myself out Monday xMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

I've just done a quick search for PH vacancies, it was mainly the health boards / trusts which were popping up, plus the private health companies / hospitals, there were quite a few advertised on R33d. It's also worth a look on government sites.
Use the weekend for you, dust off the cobwebs and have fresh eyes on Monday, it will be a lot clearer then.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Morning! No progress on the mortgage OP as I previously said. Good news is I have had a good reference off the highest managers in work so hopefully that will resolve the issue soon. And if not then I have a telephone interview booked for Friday for a job that will initially be WFH throughout covid which isn’t that appealing but it’s decent money. I am definitely getting a contract somewhere ASAP though. I genuinely never realised how vulnerable/ disposable I am as a bank worker. I have minimal rights.Ive got enough in the bank to cover direct debits for beginning Nov and Fridays wage will cover Dec direct debits if needed in worst case scenario. I’m hoping to be back in my job way before then but you can never predict these things.I’ve also cooked every meal in and spent the bare minimum. I can live on next to nothing when I put my mind to it. Ive had to do it in the past as normal life but the kids have become accustomed to takeaways and money and general junk whenever they want it so I will take this as an opportunity for them to become accustomed to the MSE lifestyle now!Anyway thought I’d just update my thread so I can read back in years to come when this awful time is a distant memory. As you can tell I am trying to be positive today! XMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

All sounds very promising 😁
Bank / temp work has a lot of benefits and the negatives can be overcome with the right back up savings.
Good on you for going back to MSE ways, that's a positive to take from all of this as you wouldn't have if things carried on with no hiccups 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Thanks. Ive got an interview Thursday too for the Public Health job I applied for weeks ago. I’m really nervous as I would really love this job. Now I have so much research to do before thursday. EeeekMortgage started August 2020 £69,700
