Bank transfer of excess credit from refund without incurring fee with Lloyds

in Credit cards
My cancelled holiday refund has put my Lloyds credit card in excess credit well above my limit. I will not be spending this amount anytime soon and would prefer to have it back in my current account also with Lloyds. The bank transfer option says there is a fee to do this just as with a balance transfer although in the case of a refund credit this fee will apparently later be refunded. Has anyone does this? Does it work smoothly or does it often go wrong and need chasing after? Where does this fee get charged? Is there a way to do this without having the fee in the first place?

The only way to avoid the fee being initially charged would be to call them.7.What is a credit balance? If you have a credit balance, it means that you don’t owe any money on your credit card account. In fact you are owed money. In most instances this can happen if you’ve had a refund on something. If you have a Credit Balance on your Lloyds Bank Credit Card Account please call us on 0345 606 2172 (+44 1702 278 272 from abroad) to request a refund. What is the problem wit initially paying the fee ? It looks like they have a system set up to cover returning it.4. I have received a refund on my credit card, how can I transfer it to a bank account?

If you have received a refund that has put your card balance in credit, don’t forget you can just use this by spending on your card as usual. Alternatively, if you have a 'Money Transfer' option available, you can transfer credit amounts over £100 to your bank account. Please note: You will not receive/or be charged interest on the value of any credit balance you hold on your card. Any fee charged for making a money transfer from a credit balance will be refunded within 28 days. You can ask for a money transfer using Internet or Mobile Banking. Find more information about what you need to know on our money transfer page. Money transfer requests are subject to eligibility and security checks, but these won’t leave a footprint on your credit file.

I called them. They told me to do it online and that I would not be charged. They charged me. I called them again and they told me the fee should be refunded in a few weeks, but if it does not I have to call back. I don't know why Lloyds makes everything so difficult. There should be many in similar situation.0

You can only blame yourself for making it difficult.
At the moment they do not have the staff to be able to do everything for you.0 -

If you go to their website and look for the panel that states help for Coronavirus it tells you what to do.
Yes you would be charged initially but would be refunded within a month.
You do this online either on the app or internet banking.
You have gone into a tiss because you phoned them and they told you what to do - this was not to your liking.1 -

You are just going around in circles now. The advice was wrong but you have too much pride to admit it so have to continue blaming me.jonesMUFCforever said:''I called them''.............If you read my post you did not need to phone - my tone is I am tone deaf - I only listen to the voice in my head LOL
If your mate D3xt3r5L4b giving 'thanks' isn't point scoring I don't what is. All a bit unnecessary and embarassing really. Anyway for anyone reading this the answer is you can not avoid the fee even by calling despite what says above.
