It has been a very busy time for me as we are rushing to finish our outdoor area before the weather gets cold.
At last, we have finished our driveway and oh lord getting rid of 4 tonnes of soil will going to cost me nearly £400!!!
Now I am thinking how to use it up to save me paying that massive amount of money hmmm?
Anyway today I still managed to overpay by £500 so everything is still on track when it comes to my MF journey 😊
This is the pic of our finished driveway

Devastated. Just. Gotta wait for the bill to come in the post.Fabulous that. You have op still. Ive done £250 so far this month but may have to keep money to one side in anticipation of the gas man bill.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

This is the pic of our finished drivewayWell done - it looks great! Before paying anyone to dispose of the soil, list it on Freecycle. I'm always seeing people advertising and asking for soil. We just got rid of some concrete paving slabs on there that we found under our grass (well, under our moss - now we know why that patch never grew grass properly!) I think I love giving stuff away on there more than I enjoy getting something myself for free. Definitely try it first, even if you only get rid of a portion of it, it might make getting rid of the rest cheaper.MFW - OP 10% each year to clear mortgage in 10 years!

We have just had our gas line installed a month ago and they suppose to run it through our driveway installing it on the side of our house but I have changed my mind on the day. I instructed them to run it on our front garden instead and installing the box tucked away at the corner. Good thing I have changed my mind as if I didn't the box will be an eye sore to me 🤣
£250 is still a good amount of money to op, keep it up! 😊save for the rainy days1 -

I have tried giving it away to Facebook marketplace and numerous local FB selling pages but no one seems to want it. I have got rid a lot of stuff through it but shifting soils and stones is proving to be difficult.
I have not encountered Freecycle yet, is that a website like a Gumtree?save for the rainy days1 -

Build a couple of raised planters with sleeper's and fill em in with the soil.
Or shape the soil, lay some plastic down and fill with water and u have yourself a pond sew in some wildflowers around the pond and it'll attract no end of wildlife throughout the summer.
Or as someone else has said, there isalways people looking to take it away for free.1 -

And yes we do have a low spot at the back when we raised a portion of it so because we have plenty of soil we have now decided to level it all up.
At least we dont have to pay a massive amount to get rid of it 🙂save for the rainy days1 -
Hi All,
Hope you are all doing great though we may face another round of tighter restrictions on the next few days!
At the moment, I am still keeping up with my monthly over payments and I am keeping a very close eye on our finances as our emergency fund is only £1250 and we are trying to add £250 every month.
Last week I started working back in our office but yesterday they sent me home due to my crackling voice, occasional cough and sneezesso here I am again working from home whilst i am waiting for the covid test home kit.
