Redundancy package

My husband and approx 30 colleagues were made redundant recently and were given a breakdown of their package at their consultation meeting. They have just received their final payment and holiday pay, which was inc in their total package has been removed without any Explanation and resulted in 2000 less in his final payment. Is this allowed? It is causing so much more stress just as we were trying to come to terms with the loss of his job and plan for our future. Any advice welcome. Thanks.

If the payment differs from the formal settlement agreement it needs to be queried,0

Holiday entitlement can be taken during the notice period.0

Was he told by the employer that he’d have to take holiday during notice period? Does the contract specify anything about this?0

the employer giving you holiday pay as part of your redunancy package is dicretionary as they can force you to take your holiday during the notice period or consultation period. if however, there is a contractual letter, which states clearly that they are willing to pay your holiday pay as part of your redundancy package then you will have a right to this. just query it, as their payroll may made a mistake and was not aware that the holiday pay should have been included.

Yes, that’s what I meant by the first sentence. However, if the employer didn’t serve notice to take holiday they can’t then say holiday was taken during the notice period (well they can say it but they’d be wrong).Thrugelmir said:

Perhaps the employees concerned ultimately weren't required to work their (full) notice period.thebrexitunicorn said:
