Just to let you know, my VIP Email invitation came a good 24 hours after I had been able to book a slot courtesy of this thread, therefore a much earlier slot than I would've got!

My thoughts exactly. Last summer we had a staff member from next that would come in to see what we were doing/saying too. Kiddy Guy is winding people up and having a good laugh at it - don't let him/her. I asked KG to spill the beans a few days ago and they ignored my request. Hey ho Next isn't that great, I've just had an e-mail form John Lewis about their sale so I'm off for a nosey there now.

I think i can understand what kiddyguy means.....the system had already decided which account holders were going to receive the invites prior to sending......so if someone had been selected to receive a VIP invite it would noted against their account.

Hence those lucky enough to be selected for a slot were able to register before the e-mail was sent!! This happened to me....i read on the site on Wednesday evening that we could register through our accounts, so i logged into my account and booked a slot on Saturday night.....then sure enough the next day i received the e-mail inviting me!!....and when i clicked it it told me i had already registered and my slot was on Saturday night.

I think next are trying to crack down on the 'changing the codes loophole', they started this at the summer sale in that it was far more complicated to get the items.....you had to click a link at a certain time slot that the VIP invitees had received and if it expired had to find another one......but now they have even stopped that my making sure there is no link, so literally the only way it seems you can buy at sale prices is:

-Logging into your account at your allocated time
-clicking the VIP sale link
-purcahsing the items

So unfortunately i think they have got savvy to what has happened and tightened up.....who knows there maybe a way round it.....but i can't see how as at the moment as all the item numbers are the same in the listings, thus the ONLY way you can get sale prices is through your own account.....and i can't see many people letting others log into their own account!!

I guess we'll all have to wait and see what happens!!!

Thanks to this thread I logged into my account, which I wouldn't have thought of doing otherwise, and had a VIP slot. All Saturday's have gone though and I didn't fancy too early a wake up on Sounday so I've got 2.30 pm.
I'm off to the clearance shop today though so I'll see what they've got first.
