I have had a look at the youtube info you have all sent and l think an SSD is worth getting.  Stupid question coming up so l apologise... :)
Are SSD's all the same or do l need to find one for my model laptop and where does one start to look for one?  Haven't bought anything for my laptop before except a new power lead.
    Many thanks again.
You need 2.5" SATA SSD: https://www.mymemory.co.uk/memory/data-storage/ssd-drives.html?dir=asc&order=price&q=ssd&source_connection=2963 Priced from £19.A 240 GB SSD at around £25 should be capacity enough for general usage. But if you actually need more than that currently, you can buy a larger capacity.

Whilst you are waiting for it to be delivered, find a USB Flash drive of at least 8 GB in capacity, copy off it's contents elsewhere and use it to create Windows 10 installation media:

Creating the Windows 10 USB flash drive

    1. Visit the Microsoft Media Creation Tool website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
    2. Click Download Tool Now.
    3. Save the Application.
    4. Plug your USB Flash Drive into the PC where you saved the application.
    5. Run the Application.
    6. Accept the EULA
    7. Select Create installation media for another PC and click Next.
    8. Choose the correct settings for your version of Windows 10
    • Language (Country)
    • Windows 10
    • 64-bit (x64)
Click Next.Select USB Flash Drive and click Next.Select the Flash Drive and click Next.

Allow the application to complete. You will be prompted when it is finished and has successfully created the bootable drive.

Almost neglected to mention that if your laptop has just 3 GB of RAM, obtain another RAM module here; https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail?id=200pinsmbpcpn&categoryName=memory-laptop-ddr3&superCatName=computing&title=2-gb-pc8500-ddr3-1066mhz-204-pin-memory to take it up to 4 GB as a minimum. Only £1 + postage.

I might have suggested buying a 4 GB module had they them in stock.
