    Update.
I got an email from TR yesterday stating that they have had to cancel my holiday and I will get a refund within 7 weeks of the amount paid to them.  Got all cancellation documents.  They didn't take the final payment and I didn't pay it either.

Now just the wait for the refund
    Seven weeks !!!
Is it coming by carrier pigeon ?

Most companies are taking a similar length of time, only Jet2 and BA have been constantly quicker.
Virgin are currently at 120 days and counting...

If they paid everyone out immediately, they'd likely just go bust and no one would get a refund.

If you stop paying it will be seen as ‘customer cancellation’ or ‘disinclination to travel’, contact them and explain everything. If you cancel, you will lose money. If they cancel, you will be refunded. If there is FCO advice against where you are traveling to, you will be refunded.
Hi Gabi, should I pay the balance then.  I mean I already know direct from emirates that my original flights have been scheduled and the return flight 're scheduled for a day later which Is a significant change in itself
If you are actually planning on going, then pay the balance. If you don’t want to go then try to speak to them to rearrange it. Don’t cancel the payment (credit score).

If they went bust, no - the people that drained the pot would obviously get theirs, but assuming the company was liquidated then everyone else might get a few pence in the pound.

It's far better just to wait and ensure the long-term survival of our travel industry - and before you say it, I'm actually 15 days into my VA 120 day wait :)

Have I missed the abolition of ATOL during the current crisis ?
Section 75 spring to mind ?
When Flybe went bust I had five outstanding flights which were refunded via chargebacks within weeks.
On reflection do you retract the nonsense contained within your post ?
