UPDATE:
Fire Industry Association have today released the EWS1 online portal - https://buildingsafetyportal.co.uk/ where anyone can now view completed, validated EWS1 survey reports. I suspect it'll be a while before we see the "success stories" in report form on the portal - but it's a start!
It isn't clear yet whether surveyors are required to upload the forms here, or if building owners can stop them from doing so if they wish to. Will be following this...
Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027

Some good news from me to encourage anyone going this ordeal- I reserved a 2 bed apartment, 1st floor new build with Taylor Wimpey last year. Before I could proceed with completion, I needed the EWS 1 form. I believe it was requested by the development sometime in October 2020 and it was approved by December 2020. I was able to complete on 18th December. It came back with a B1 rating which was accepted by Halifax.0

Has anyone that an issue with receiving a B1 rating and the freeholder still wanting to do some work even if not mandated?0

Mine did both the EWS1 and the risk assessment (both paid for by freeholder) and the freeholder has chosen not to replace the balconies - the cause of the B1.
I'd definitely object during the S20 consultation if the work is not mandatory, and also get your leaseholders organised so you do this together.Comfort111 said:Some good news from me to encourage anyone going this ordeal- I reserved a 2 bed apartment, 1st floor new build with Taylor Wimpey last year. Congratulations!! That's great news - enjoy your new home!
The EWS1 for my building was instructed in late June 2020, performed late August 2020 and report not received until 9th December 2020.
If anyone looks in here for timescales - expect at least 6 months!
The good news is the B1 (due to timber composite balcony decking) was accepted by lender and I am looking to exchange 29th January 2021 and complete Feb!Current debt-free wannabe stats:Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027
