Paying Voluntary Class 2 NI in year of retirement

hello,
I will be 66 next year 2021 on 10 September and I am currently paying voluntary Class 2 NI contributions. I will not have a full UK state pension.
As regards tax year 2021/2022, if I pay a full year year Class 2 NI contribution, will I get credit for a full year or will it be limited to accrual period of 6/4/2021 to 10 September 2021 ie 5 months approx? or do I pay anything in the year of retiring?
thanks
john

The tax year in which you reach state retirement age does not count towards your state pension, so 2020/21 will be the last year you can get towards your state pension.

NI contributions in the financial year you reach state pension age do not count towards the state pension.  Compulsory NI must be paid up to the week before you reach state pension age, voluntary contributions should not be paid in the year of retirement - class 3 cannot be paid but not sure if the system would allow class 2.
