NOW Broadband

I was thinking about joining them once my current contract ends. However, they seem to experience problems when getting connected? Once connected can any current customers say if they have experienced any problems? Currently with TT and had numerous problems with contracts and wifi falling.
Needing convincing that I'm not going from bad to worse? Any replies will be much appreciated.

Wifi is usually nothing to do with the ISP .

FWIW I'm with Now, ex Plusnet. Switch was seamless & trouble free [last year, pre Covid]I've had no problems at all, but never had any with PNet eitherUnable to comment on CS because I've never had reason to contact themGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0

fwiw, one of my relatives moved from BT Superfast 2 fibre to NOW Fab Fibre. Switchover was smooth with only loss of broadband for 2 hours. Even their telephone no. was successfully ported. (Former NTL, before Virgin Cable, ported to BT in 2012, and to NOW).
Only downside is the NOW Hub 2 (rebadged Sky Q hub) is not as good as BT Smart Hub 1 for wifi coverage. The wifi is not so terrible to justify spending £70 on a new wifi modem-router or other wifi solution for their small house.
BT did publish a supposedly unbiased review of numerious ISP wifi routers, including TalkTalk Wifi Hub (latest model), and Sky Q hub in 2018.

Thank you for the replies, much appreciated. I think I'll phone up and get the switch moving along soon.0

Just be wary about Now's ability to number port. If you are not worried about losing your number, then that's OK.0

Yes, the default position seems to be "we can't port your number". Wife's mother has just moved to Now and got this as an initial response. Quick phone call to customer services and her number was ported without problems.
Now are OK - very cheap £18 and free calls, especially if you use your landline for calls to mobile (most other providers don't include mobile calls in their standard packages). The only "problem" I have with the (Sky-a-like) hub is the lack of a USB port for a shared drive. I'm up for renewal at the end of the month - the renewal is OK price-wise - £17.99 + £8 for calls - but I think I can do slightly better, might try haggling but I'm prepared to switch if necessary.0 -
