  • I have been trying for the last 4 days to cancel my Look After My Bills Account. They just seem to ignore the subject matter int he email and keep asking for the rates I have already found so they can match it. I do not want it matched, I want the account cancelled. I have several emails back and forth and am still no further forward. Any suggestions who to complain to?

Have you done this? - To cancel the Look After My Bills service please email support@lookaftermybills.com with the subject line CANCELLATION.

There really isn't anyone you can complain to, except possibly trading standards. As they aren't an energy supplier then Ofgem or the Ombudsman wont be interested. You could try Resolver but unfortunately these companies don't seem to be regulated so it's not easy to stop them.

You have agreed with them to perform a service but you don't directly pay for it (they get a bounty or referral fee from the supplier) and it's not easy to communicate with them if they don't respond.

So I suggest you find a way of sending them a physical letter terminating your agreement - assuming you can find their address) and getting proof of postage or better still, signed for so you've got confirmation of delivery.

  • I too am fighting with lookaftermybills. I have been with them around a year. Early on they found a 'deal' which they said would save me well over £100/year but actually was dearer than the one I was on when I checked accurately. That worried me as a lot of folk would have trusted them - including my mate who recommended them to me.
Since then I have totally failed to get them to change the details of the supplier they think I am using and finally decided to cancel as I waste time with them to no advantage. A couple of weeks on I am still trying to cancel, I clicked unsubscribe on their last email and have just been told I can't unsubscribe as otherwise they cannot tell me about good 'deals'. Grrrr! My advice is dont' waste your time - do your own research using MSE energy club as a basis.
I have threatened them with the Ombudsman but suspect (as mentioned above) that the Ombudsman can't help directly.

The ombudsman, wont care. LAMB aren't an energy supplier, they are an agent whom you have engaged to perform a service on your behalf.

They aren't regulated and can really do what they like, so you really have no easy way of taking them on. Have you checked their T&C's to see what whats written in their agreements which probably absolves them of any wrongdoing and also defines how to terminate your agreement with them

Look after my bills moved my account TOTO energy who withdrew twice the monthly amount I was paying last October by direct Debit - I rang to cancel and then they went into administration.  Live accounts were transferred to EDF energy but as I had cancelled I am not a customer of either.  it would appear that Look After my Bills transferred me to a sinking ship.  They are not answering any of my e-mails or telephone calls. it would appear I am now a creditor of TOTO with little chance of getting any money back  I switched myself to British Gas took all of a minute...……………… lesson learnt

Has anybody had any problems actually receiving a free gift as advertised for switching energy suppliers with Look After My Bills
I have been trying to contact them about this but they are totally ignoring my emails. Has anybody ever had any free gifts from them, Does anybody know of a solution to this please. My opinion of this company is rapidly going downhill
The solution is to quit Look After My Bills and to understand and manage your utilities yourself.  It's not difficult and you'll save money.

Same situation was also with me, but I still lost my money, but I still understood my lesson.
