PAYG data usage which cannot have happened?

Just a quickie as this may happen all the time. I keep a cheap 3 PAYG card in my 'phone for use when out and about although we currently have ZERO 3 reception in our actual  home. (I just use the phone in our home for use on the wireless network) Unable to use the Three network for several months as I've been house-bound like so many others, I finally went out by car to send a couple of texts to keep the card operational and found that almost all of my £5 (approximately) credit had gone! As I am the only user and I've been in our own home for months I had to find out where it had gone. In the end I spent over an hour on the 'live chat' talking to an assortment of people, intil I found one who explained that there were four very large data 'uses' during May, thereby taking the balance down to 32 pence.. As I was at home with the fone and had zero usage, how can this be? Does this happen often? I tried to use live chat again but it isn't working. (The last person said that billing would ring me but they didn't). I then tried ringing their 'free' customer support line today from our next village and ended up finding out it wasn't free after all and lost all the remaining 32 pence bar 2 pence simply listening to their canned music! How do I now contact them? No email can I find anywhere on their site. Live chat doesn't work at all at the moment. The recorded message tells me to top up, but I can see my £10 quickly going on tacky canned music so what's the point? Likewise starting writing physical letters seems a pretty pointless thing to over a matter of just £5. Any ideas? Advice? I'm certainly not adding any more credit until I know that it will not suddenly disappear like the last lot...

You may think you have zero Three reception at home, but occasionally it can connect and cost you if you don't have mobile data switched off.

I had that once and it took £9 overnight.
it worked out that the internet went down and my phone switched back to normal data so it took all the money i had on the phone.
so has ballyblack said i turned off data and it never happened again.
This was before Three brought out there 321 Tariff which i changed over to but Three have now stopped, it but still have my 321 sim and it still works but you cannot order that tariff anymore.
