I thought I was savvy but I have been scammed by this chinese company that trades on-line in the UK though multiple outlets, advertising on Facebook etc purporting to be UK companies. The website disappeared overnight. The item I received is not as ordered but I cannot get a refund or replacement. Raising a case in PayPal has got me nowhere. Considering I easily found over 500 complaints against this company (too late!), not even including PayPal's own community, how can Facebook & PayPal be so irresponsible as to allow them to trade with them? The value of the goods is below £50. For me it's the rights and wrongs of it that makes me continue to pursue it. Anyone got any ideas who the 'good guys' are and where I can possibly get any compensation?

I think the bigger question is how can you be so irresponsible to buy stuff of Facebook?

I read as far as the bit in bold and could guess the problem.
  • Facebook and PayPal make money on transaction because people are gullible. I am surprised that your were not as savvy as you say you are!

Did you click through from Facebook to a website? What did the website look like, was there contact details?
Personally if I couldn't find sensible contact details and a UK address on a website I wouldn't expect the goods to be coming from the UK.

I did, the website appears at first quite sensible though some of the English on their links is questionable I must admit. They've sent me a tracking number for my order, via hermes, but I won't hold my breath. PayPal are pursuing them and will refund me if necessary.

'questionable' English is always a give away, although sometimes very entertaining.

Are you the OP posting under a different username or do you just have the same issue?
