BA flights from Gatwick cancelled

Good morning,

Last year we booked return flights only to Lanzarote from Gatwick for September 2020 with BA. In Feb 2020 we changed the return flights so that we could stay an extra week and incurred the administrative fees for doing so (£60 pp).

Both the outbound and return flights have now been cancelled by BA due to them postponing some flights from Gatwick airport.

BA are not refunding the administration fee paid... this seems wrong as they cancelled the flight, not us. So we are £240 out of pocket for flights we are not going on and BA cancelled.

Is this right? Thanks,

Generally, no airlines refund fees that you voluntarily incur due to the wish to alter your arrangments after booking and their booking conditions, which no one reads. normally make this clear. You can ask politely but I suspect the answer will remain the same
