in Credit cards
Hi All,
My wife is on a 0% balance transfer deal.
We had a cancelled holiday which resulted in a refund. Turns out thinking that credit would count as a payment for the month, was wrong.
Saw the late fee, so made a quick payment and contacted them. After a few emails they said the zero would not be cancelled and it would be back to normal.
Noticed however this month they've added interest.
Have tried emailing them since last week and not one response. Have tried their twitter but the couple of times they've responded via DM it's been too long and I've been working and not able to see their response.
I've emailed feedback and complaints addresses, anyone any idea of any other ways, I've tried calling but also says to call back due to wait times.
I've still got a couple of weeks until the payment date but starting to worry now with the timescale.
Personally had issues with them myself during a DMP I had with them and don't really trust them to sort it.
Dont want to start going down FO route at the moment.
Cheers

You can't go down the FOS yet in any case.
What is your query on the interest?

That it's there to start with.
Got the email saying it has not been applied due to the misunderstanding, but now it's like the place is in lockdown and not responding.

What made you think the credit would count as a payment for the month?
Have you not got a direct debit set up to ensure that you don't miss any payments?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

If so, then, no, not added to the existing debt.
In terms of thinking it was a payment, it was obviously a wrong judgement on my part. If a payment is made for example as a balance transfer and there is still outstanding debt the payment has been made, so I made the assumption, wrongly.
Listen, if they had said they weren't going against charging interest I would have had to suck it up (could have moved to another card anyway) but after telling me to ignore the letters, they then proceed to charge interest and expect a payment 3 x the normal.
I've actually had a response via twitter but appears that I will need to call, that seems to be the only way, so will need to try that.
Tbh, can't say I've had much joy with Tesco, had a DMP which they refused to remove the interest from, which they have a right to do, but Stepchange thought they might stop it, unfortunately the pro rata calculator from stepchange meant me paying more than the minimum payment, although they did stop use on the card. I've since just sent away a letter to cancel the card now.

My full balance DD wasn't taken by Barclaycard last month after I got a refund from Ticketmaster for slightly more than the balance.1 -
