Hi,
My DD parked in a Euro Car Parks, the signage said Max stay 3 hrs (06:00 to 21:30), Max stay 10 mins (21:30 to 06:00). DD arrived at 20:58:14 and departed 22:45:49. DD was under the impression that arriving before 21:30 meant that she had 3hrs parking but today as the registered keeper I have received an NTK for £100, discounted to £60 if paid in 14 days.
Is there anything I can do about this??? Should I refuse to pay/appeal etc?
Thanks for any help received.

Can we see photos of the signage and a redacted scan of the NtK (leave any dates on it showing). At face value the signs would appear confusing and there's a good possibility that POPLA will agree, but one step at a time.
Is your daughter the vehicle's keeper? If so, why is she not dealing with the charge? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

As the registered keeper you should send the already written for you blue text template appeal easily found in the first post of the NEWBIES thread.
Send it unchanged - no additions or alterations needed.
Send it as the keeper. Do not disclose the driver's details - ever.2 -
Thank you for the quick responses. Umkomass - I have attached the images as requested. I am the registered keeper but DD drives the car mostly, she is only a teenager so dealing with this was slightly beyond her experience.0

Telling the entire world who drove the car, and you HAVE done that, isnt advisable.2

The parking companies are known to trawl this forum just waiting for people to trip themselves up.2 -

You are the correct person to deal with this if the NtK is addressed to you. I was just concerned that it was in your daughter's name and you were dealing with it yourself. We've had a number of cases go askew like that. The signage can be argued to be confusing and unclear, and this will be one of your thrusts in a POPLA appeal. The signage is the purported contract with the PPC, and where the contract is unclear, the 'Contra Proferentem' rule comes into play (please check it out via Google). But first things first, get your initial appeal into play using the blue text template from the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, first post and collect your rejection letter and POPLA code from ECP.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
