Hi all,

I have been looking at skyscanner for cheap flights to Tahiti for our honeymoon Nov 2021, obviously flights are only published about a year in advance so I am not surprised there are no flights yet but when looking at this time next year, flights have stopped or more correctly, none can be found. The last flight is in early July where as before new flights were being published weekly when I was checking throughout June (to get a rough idea on schedules and prices); they just kind of stopped.

I have booked the hotel but luckily I can get a 100% refund if I cancel before 30th October 2021 however I am a bit concerned that I will not be able to fly out there, do you think they have just put any new flights on hold due to covid 19 or is this a permanent change?

Nobody has any way of knowing what the situation will be by November 2021.

There have never been direct flights from the UK to Tahiti. you could either fly from Paris or pick up the onward flight on the west coast of the US. This was ruled out by the banning of passengers from the EU so the flights now go via French Caribbean or Vancouver but as has been suggested, no one can say with the slightest certainty what will be happening in 15 months time. French Bee is a low-cost long haul airline and regrettably those airlines do not have a good record of survival so I would not be booking too quickly at all for 2021

United Airlines have announced they are starting flights again to Tahiti from San Francisco and they also fly from London to SFO but whether you will be allowed into the US to connect remains to be seen, and with California's current level of COVID 19 you wouldn't want to anyway. Definitely a case of wait and see
  • sorry, should have said flying from Heathrow, one route was Heathrow to LAX then to PPE, this is the one that has disappeared from late June.

United flies from Heathrow, not the best airline in the world  but a through-fare will be cheaper than booking individual sectors on different airlines
