    Yes I am on payroll.
Guess what I'm a bit miffed about is I'm struggling financially, and they have two incomes.

Well, you could always try and do what they've been doing for some time, get a second job.

I wasn't suggesting it's easy but realistically they're in the position they are in because they have two jobs, so the only way to even things out is for you to do the same.

Perhaps these people have two jobs because they need them to make ends meet, so if you're taken back over them then they'll be struggling instead.

So before they had 100% pay from employment plus extra for cash in hand working in pub.

Now they have 80% pay being furloughed "due to stop"  and cash in hand working in pub.

And you are "miffed" as you are only getting 80% pay?

The furlough payments are due to stop, so perhaps you could get a full time job somewhere else and work for cash in hand at pub? Then you also would have two incomes.  :)

Perhaps I've not explained it well enough, the hours that I worked I was very happy with.
The hours that I did are now being covered by the cash in hand girls.
If there is money to pay them.....

And you probably cost more to employ than them, with them being off the books and all.

Xina: Have you talked to your employer regards a return to work date?

But minimum wage differs based on age.  And since they're not on the books he won't be paying employers NI.
