They certainly are not reducing numbers on Easyjet flights for social distancing
Do you know an Airline that is, flying out of the UK ?

No idea but the budgets certain arent.  I suspect no airline is to be honest, it isnt economically viable.  If its only half full they will probably try to spread people out, mind. A token effort.

So what is your point ?
Are you trying to highlight the dichotomy between Air and Rail Travel at the moment, or the ridiculous social distancing at the Airport that goes out the window the minute you board ?
How many flights have you been on since the pandemic ensued ?|

My point? I was replying to the final line of Zarkovs post on the last page. Chill out!

I have been on none but seen many pictures of full budget and charter flights, as wel as reading first hand accounts, including on here. Like you say, social distancing ends at the airport gate.

Try scheduled BA Flights from Edinburgh to Venice via London Heathrow and back a couple of weeks ago.
Three out of the four sectors were full to capacity, so it's not just budget and charter services.

Well there we are then. We can say with absolute certainty that Zarkov's tickets havent been cancelled just to help with social distancing.

They have been cancelled because they are consolidating Flights from two a day to one on a lot of routes.

As I alluded to earlier in the thread this is prevalent between Glasgow/Edinburgh and Birmingham at the moment and I have been a victim.

The previous Flybe Services were on much smaller Aircraft than Easyjet operate. This coupled with the lack of demand have resulted in their actions.

I have flown from Birmingham to Edinburgh twice in August on Easyjet for the veritable bargain sum of £20....
  • Are we all agreed now, that the chance my flight times were changed cancelled was unlikely to be for social distancing reasons?
Yes? Good! :D Now, as long as I get the money as promised, I'll be happy. Hope everyone in the same boat plane has the same success.
  • "An update on your refund

    Dear Customer,

Firstly, we are very sorry that you’ve had to wait for your refund for your flight(s) for booking reference XXXXXX, and that we haven’t been in touch sooner.

As you’ll be aware, the pandemic has hit our industry particularly hard, causing unprecedented volumes of refunds.

While we appreciate that the delay will have caused frustration, the volumes of refunds coupled with lockdown affecting our customer service centres have been a significant challenge for us to overcome.

Since lockdown restrictions lifted, we worked to process refunds as quickly as we could, and I can confirm that I have now completed yours.

Your refund will come via the same method you used to pay for the booking, if you booked via a 3rd party please contact them to receive your funds directly. The total refund should show as available funds within the next 10 days.

You don’t need to do anything else. We just wanted to say thank you for your patience.

    Kind regards,

    easyJet Customer Services"

    Almost there... :)

  • I remembered I hadn't updated this thread. My refund was received on September 9th.  :)
