where do you stand if you arrive at a pay&display machine and its asking for only cash but you don’t have any physical cash on you. No pay by app or card machine. Its not feasible to get cash either because the car park is remote.
No difference to if you get there and the car park is full.

    You don't park there.

Why on earth would you go somewhere "remote" with zero cash on you?
In this changing society moving from cash to card payment I can’t remember when I last carried cash with me.

And Its not like I wouldn’t be willing to pay.

Your example shows that it is wise to carry some cash on your person. Could prove useful sometimes as your question highlights.

Maybe you should carry some cash in case you find yourself in a car park that only accepts cash. If it’s a remote car park it may not have a signal to enable card payments. Any other methods may be too costly to implement

Ah but that would require taking some personal responsibility rather than blaming someone else

I always keep a bag of loose change in the glove box, only a few quid but enough to pay for any car parks.

OP you seem to have form tangling with parking companies.

In your hypothetical example what is your proposed course of action?

Likewise as that seems like a sensible thing to do

You obviously don't goto the same car parks in the middle of nowhere as me! Or just stay 30 mins! TBF last time waving the card at it for 8 mins eventually worked.

I think the answer the OP wanted is

You just park there without paying, and then when a ticket arrives, you successfully challenge it based on the fact that you fully intended to pay honest, but couldn't as you didn't have an acceptable means to do so, even though this would violate the terms laid out on the signage.

But I'm sure this isn't actually correct ;)

And then claim £50 compensation for hurt feelings
