TV Licensing-Monthly Payments

I am an over 75 Licence holder and in January this year (2020) I was approved as an over 75 and therefore cancelled my monthly Direct Debit to await BBC’s decision on over 75’s, I am not eligible for any waiver or reduction following their latest decision.
On receiving the latest request for payment (1st august 2020) from TV Licensing I entered the website and entered a monthly payment schedule.
My present licence expires on 31st July 2020, the proposed payment plan was as follows:
6 monthly payments of £26.25 ( Aug 2020 to Jan 21) after which, 12 monthly payments of £13.12.
Unless I am foolishly missing something that means my next year’s licence will cost me (6 x £26.25)+(6 x £13.12) = £ 317.50).
If I decide to make an annual payment it will only cost me £157.50.
TV Licensing provides no contact number to investigate further my query.

When you enter into a new Monthly Payment Plan for a TV Licence, you pay for your first annual licence over the first 6 months i.e. you pay double for the first 6 months.
That is used to build up credit on your account so that future Licences are paid for 6 months in advance and 6 months in arrears.
It's likely (I think) that the Government will make this into a more straightforward process in its current review.1
