Good rule of thumb: when anyone cold calls to help you out with your investments or to reclaim money is to hang up. It is likely to be some form of scam. This is known to happen when you lose money with high risk bonds.2

GDS consulting has now passed Quinshaw onto a rescue and recovery practice called Begbies Traynor www.begbies-traynor.com.
Specifically, you want to contact Paul Cronin, he is heading a group called the Steering committee; a group of fellow Quinshaw victims in trying to recover our funds. Paul@Cronin.uk.com He can give you more information.
There is some hope
The money is gone. A total loss. Any fees that you pay to try to make things better will also be lost.
Sometimes hope is a bad thing.0 -
Oggieben said:My apologies if this is in the wrong category. A company I have investments in is going into liquidation and I have been contacted by GDS Consulting as they have been appointed by the company to assist in the liquidation. They are offering help with the claim process for a fee. They sound OK, but has anybody had any dealings with them, please?
ThanksNext time you invest ask here first. Don't use adverts from Facebook or Google as your guide as to where to invest, if someone offers 10x the going rate risk free, it's obviously not risk free. Even 2x the going rate cannot be risk free. Again here first and sorry to say this is a common issue nd your money is gone.2 -
GDS Consulting is run by people with access to Quinshaw record. They are trying to scam people further.
Your money has gone. It's still worthwhile trying to contact the liquidator directly. Don't deal with anyone claiming to be working with the liquidator. To find who the liquidator is you need to search the records of the London Gazette. This should confirm to you that Quinshaw's provisional liquidator is Gary Shankland and Irvin Cohen of Begbies Traynor (London) LLP, 31st Floor, 40 Bank Street, London, E14 5NR. You should not deal with, or make any claim with, anyone other than the appointed liquidator whose details were published in the London Gazette. There is a claim form, which you should complete, on the Begbies Traynor website. It is best if you go to thegazette.co.uk and search for Quinshaw to get the details first-hand rather than rely on anything that you read on an internet forum.
As stated, it's likely that you will not get much, if any, of your investment back. But you will not lose anything by putting in a claim with the genuine liquidator.2
