never used either of those and its an account that is rarely used and only for genuine big name sites.

After 20+ years with the same email accounts it's amazing that all of my emails are not on that site.

These are marketing companies that your 'genuine' websites will have outsourced some of their admin to. Assume that the password has been legitimately compromised, and fix it.

It’s not. It’s a legitimate site and they’ve got your email address already on their list. My email address appears in two “pwned” sites, both of which I knew about at the time so the passwords have long since been changed and are never used on any other sites.
As always, the problem is people not changing their passwords and reusing them across multiple sites. Passwords should be used only once and on one site only, and changed regularly. The person who mentioned password managers gave good advice.
