I think this is the crux of the problem - without enforcement the measures aren't as effective and as is evident, there is a good proportion of the population who don't give 2 hoots about "doing what's right/been asked of them"
Too many snowflakes more worried about their civil liberties and their rights etc etc

Face shields don't offer as much 'protection' due to no seal.
However face mask are horrible as someone that has been wearing them for 20 years I agree. Now I have to wear an FFP3 mask ( Like a gas mask, car sprayers mask kinda thing ). Now that's hideous!
Not sure why people told to wear basic masks if obvs not good enough in medical setting.
After few mins when mask is moist from condensation they are no longer effective. I've still caught colds etc from pts in the past.
I think masks give false security, people now closer to each other in shops etc and hand washing has decreased!
But I put 1 on to keep others happy. To me I'd prefer it not to be a thing. Also the amount of people wearing them wrong kinda makes them even more pointless!
The FFP3 mask is to protect you while wearing it by stopping infected droplets entering your mouth/nose.
A simple cloth/paper face covering is to protect you by me wearing it by stopping infected droplets leaving my mouth/nose in case I have the virus but no symptoms.
