The sat nav on my last car had changed part of the Manchester Ship Canal to the Manchester Shi* Canal.  Part of me wondered if it was deliberate by an annoyed employee!!
...or merely somebody familiar with its water quality?

"St" is a common abbreviation for both Saint and Street - it's probably most common as the latter.
When using my Garmin satnav in the USA, it always pronounces Dr as doctor (for those that don't know, Dr is a common abbreviation for drive in the USA) so you end up with instructions such as:
    "Turn left on International doctor"

To be honest I'd be more worried that the sat nav was trying to take me to Bury St.Edmunds
I wish we could bury Bury St Edmunds

What expression does she have when she tells you to "Turn around where possible"? ;)
