Sounds like the person using the sat-nav failed to input the correct address.
Write a stern letter to the person's maker pointing out the malfunction.0 -
Where is Edmunds and Nor Wich?
Just put in the postcode of your destination and then you're sorted!0 -

My old E Class used to pronounce Slough as Sluff. Still tickles me now. Placenames in Welsh are also hilarious. Welsh for Swansea is Abertawe. The E Class woman used to pronounce it as About a wee.3

They are probably descended from the voiceover artists who did cinema ads for local businesses in the 70s. As a youngster we found the mangling of local names hilarious.I need to think of something new here...0 -

The voices are auto-generated, text-to-speech, so there's no surprise that there's pronunciation issues occasionally.
(BTW, I assume that the greengrocer's apostrophe is deliberate irony in such close proximity to accusations of illiteracy? Especially given the other punctuation issues.)1 -
Yes I believe as part of a 'get people to work' scheme the government are employing illiterate people to write sat nav software programs.
Actually I think its more likely that as nobody wants to go to Suffolk they dont spend too much time on getting it correct as it wont get used very often. To be honest I'd be more worried that the sat nav was trying to take me to Bury St.Edmunds0 -
There's nothing wrong with BStE (as opposed to BSE) - a pretty church, some nice scenery and excellent beer.I need to think of something new here...0
