From Martin's weekly email
I assumed everything was done. But then I got two emails from mobilephonesdirect
First mentioned a credit check by 3, and "We have submitted your account application with Three who have advised that the application is referred."
And then second saying
Ending. Cheapest 8GB Sim we've seen + unltd mins & texts - '£6.33/mth'.
So I got my PAC (eventually... had to call BT..), and filled in the forms for the 3 SIM deal.I assumed everything was done. But then I got two emails from mobilephonesdirect

Unfortunately, we are unable to proceed your order to completion as it has now been cancelled. For our and (most importantly) your security, we cannot provide additional information and our decision in this case is final.
We understand this is not the outcome you were expecting however, please be assured we would not make the decision without careful and thorough consideration. Our call centre staff do not have any additional information and will not be able to assist you with any questions related to this order.

This has kinda surprised me. I don't really understand the "we can not provide any information". I hand over information about addresses, credit card number, bank details, past addresses. And then I get 'rejected'.
Has this happened to other people?
FWIW, I would assume I have a pretty good credit rating... Have no loans, or credit card debt... I am perplexed. And just wonder whether the deal was legit at all.

FWIW, I would assume I have a pretty good credit rating... Have no loans, or credit card debt...But part of my annoyance is that it doesn't say I have been rejected because of credit check, it's just "we can't tell you for your security" which seems like a bizarre thing to say. I am perfectly willing to put myself in this danger they imply by being told what happened.0

Hmm, I thought perhaps it was a problem with my card (because they said they would temporarily reserve £1 and I have a new card which I'd used, so maybe that was the problem), so just tried again with a card I "knew" would work, but that got auto-rejected withUnfortunately your contract application has been declined by our security team. We are unable to provide any further information as to why it was cancelled, however you may still be eligible for a contract by contacting the network directly.0

Quite often a second application within a month is sometmes automatically rejected and you have to ring to get round it.0

Are on the voter roll or have you moved house in the last 6 months?

Yes, and no. As I say not any of the normal boxes for bad credit report....
But anyway, seems like nobody else has had the problem.
I'm fine with being rejected because of credit report, but I wish they would tell me that. Rather than saying I've failed the 'security check' and that I can't ask any questions.
Am I on a government watchlist or something!???0 -
Not this offer, but I was rejected by MPD for a 3 sim only deal. Whether it mans anything or not I have a good credit score , no defaults etc and never had problems elsewhere with loans, credit cards, car finance etc - couldn't understand it. Went direct to 3 some months later with no problems.1

Got home today having been away for the weekend, and had three SIM cards from 3 🤣.
Gave mpd a call. And they still say I've been rejected. Unclear why I was sent the SIMs.
They also said that 3 accepted me, and that I passed the credit check.
But failed the mystery secutity check.0
