European Car Hire Cheaper From the USA than the UK

Am looking to book a hire car in France at short notice. Found a great deal in $ on Kayak which was half the price of all other quotes. When I went to book it with a UK address, it doubled the price. I have a US car licence and a US address but am living in the UK. Why is there such a price difference?

Because the US price will not include CDW insurance (Collision Damage Waiver), as Americans are able to use their regular motor insurance for car hire.Evolution, not revolution1
