Recent Discussions - what's going on with page 1? It is for "special" threads?

Hi There. I've noticed something strange these last few days, and i wonder if anyone can explain to me what's going on.
Whenever I just want to look at Recent Discussions, when i then go to page 2 of the discussions, the timings are all over the place, and the same threads come up again.
Example. This morning, page one of new posts stated the first one timed at 7.43am, and the last on the page at 2.58am, but then when i then go to page 2, the times for those threads start at 7.31am through to 7.18am.
I realise that if a thread is posted in between me viewing page one and then page two, the list gets "bumped down", but not to the extent of a whole page of threads.
Am i misunderstanding something about page 1? Is it "reserved" for the most active threads??? With everything else shown from page 2 onwards?
Thanks

How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

The new forum seems to have a range of interesting "features" that appear and disappear randomly.1

I've just realised what it's doing!!
I have it set to "favourited" and page 1 of new posts it just that. However if I venture to page 2 onwards I get everything... including the boards I have no interest in.
What's the point in only being able to access the first 20 new posts of your favourite boards!!
Can someone else do this to see if it's just me? It's a real pain in the 'arris. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
A few of us have raised favourite isn't working as it is supposed to. Think it's been a few weeks now @Sea_ShellMortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1
