Child 16 staying on in education tax credits

My account has now updated but its showing much reduced, I can't see how taking one child off a claim for 3 children reduces it by 75%? They had told me my payments would remain the same. I'll try to get in touch for an update.0

Same for me too they’ve added my child back on but not put my money back up I can’t get through on phone or web chat0

Mine has completely stopped and isn't yet showing anything. I reported the change just over 2 weeks ago. When i rang them yesterday they told me another 14 days but i'll be backdated money owed. Child benefit has already wrote to me telling me it will continue. There's only my daughter on the claim.

Wow I'm 130 in the queue!! I'd hazard a guess that lots of people have the same query.
I'm not in need of the money, but its frustrating when you've done all you need to. But I feel for those that depend on the payments even more so in the current climate0 -
When i rang yesterday i waited 35 minutes, not too bad. My payment is usually a Thursday so that's not going to happen for me this week. Thankfully i'm not desperate for the money but you're right some people rely on it.

Well the webchat queue goes really quick 130 to me in 11 minutes.
Their response was:
The details have been correctly updated. Your payments will start to be calculated from 01/09/2020 and it may take up to 8th September. However, any missed/reduced payments will be recalculated back into your account and you will either recieve it as a lump sum or it will be divided throughout the remainder of the tax year.
Hopefully this is of help to someone3 -
Has anyone had their claim adjusted correctly yet? I was told 48 hours on Tuesday morning by a webchat advisor but still vastly reduced payments on my PTA0
-
Not yet. I checked my future payments today and they are down by the amount due to my 16yo staying on to do his A-levels. My next payment isn't due until the third week of September so hopefully it will have been sorted out before then. If not, it will be sorted out eventually.Chellestar83 said:Has anyone had their claim adjusted correctly yet? Mine are reduced by over £150! Previously when checking online it didn't have my next payments as it stated it was being updated due to child leaving education. I notified child benefit by post and tax credits online. No paperwork from either. Now tax credits had my next three payments back up with the big drop. Not due a payment until the 18th, but I use it for me petrol to get to work so need to know asap as to whether I need to adjust my budget or not. So frustrating, and will have to do it all again this time next year for child number 2!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

After this it showed they were being processed. Monday came and everything was cleared and it showed nothing at all. I contacted them only to find out that they didn't receive any information that she was staying on in full time education, although child benefit received it, they are different departments. If i hadn't have rang them then my tax credits wouldn't have been recalculated. For piece of mind more than anything else, i'd advise you to contact them directly and not rely on information reported online through your tax account.
