HELP: No Internet Access!

Options
Hi All desperate for your help: I have been using AOL BB for 1 year using a netgear router(Wireless) but connected to my PC via an ethernet cable. There have been no problems until abour 2 weeks ago when I decided to change to a different AOl package(9.99 month + free calls) After a while, the whole system goes slow, loads of "programme not responding" windows, and now I cannot connect at all!! Using both IE and Mozilla, all I get is IE cannot connect to the internet - Mozilla just frozen. Rang AOL but totally no use! Now it seems suspicious that all this happened around the time I changed packages. Can anyone help, please. I've managed to get some info from AOl website, using anothers PC, but I know that someone out there will be able to help me. Desperate, cos I cant log on to MSE or Quidco without visiting my local library!! Thanks to all who respond.

IE and Mozilla don't connect to the internet, your router does. What does the router status page tell you? Have you tried powering down the router? Until the router is successfully connected, forget surfing!
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:
  • Just a thought I had trouble recently with my broad band. Is the router showing on line? If you go in to the router and access the connection status does it show an IP address and a default gateway? My router looked like it was online from the lights but when I went in to it the ip address wasn't there so in reality it wasn't connecting
Nothing to see here, move along.
