You've not had the property long and you've out grown it already. The new property you are looking at will you out grow that in 4 years? It's something you really need to think about because if not in 4 years you will be back again with another property that is difficult to sell at the price you need / want.

Interesting thought! Most people I know who bought at a similar age (North and South) have moved on within 4-5 years - I thought this was normal? We were very limited on options when we chose to buy. We didn’t want to rent but our budget was tight. We chose a flat as found houses in our budget had really minimal storage/space. Living and learning that there are pros and cons to this!

We’re lucky that our salaries have accelerated quicker than expected so we’re in a stronger position to upgrade. We would definitely look to stay longer in our next property - buying and selling is stressful for sure.

I just googled how long home owners stay in their homes between moves and the figure for 2019 was an average of 23 years which I found hard to believe. It sounded like a very long time.

I blame my Grandma. She’s 98 and was born in the front room of the house she still lives in... dedication!

My flatcwas on the market for 12 weeks with only 1 viewing.
Flat market gas disappeared at the moment. There's also 120 flats for sale in my town with zero buyers.

Have taken it off the market and will try again in 6 to 12 months when everything has settled down.
Yep, when demand falls away everything looks different.

    Hi,
I just wondered how you’re getting on with selling your flat?
We are also trying to sell our flat (unfortunately a one bedroom, but does have other things going for it) and I’m interested to hear other peoples experiences and frustrations! We’ve been on since last June.

    Have you reduced the price?
